Little Lady Interviews LR Jackson
LLR: Who is LR Jackson, the author?
LRJ: L.R. Jackson is an adventurous writer who enjoys bringing suspense and thrill to love stories.
LLR: When did you first know that you wanted to be an author?
LRJ: I wrote my first short story around age 13. I knew then.
LLR: How do your life experiences play a part in what you write?
LRJ: My experiences play a major part in what I write because I’m able to use a variety of different characters, different states, and occupations. Im very cultural and it allows me to play around with different things in my writing. You find each of my stories vastly different.
LLR: Describe to the readers your writing environment? Any must haves when writing?
LRJ: My writing environment is usually my bedroom. I have my laptop, my wine, and my big pillow. A must have is quietness. Otherwise, I get distracted.
LLR: Introduce us to Secrets, Lies and the Cover Up.
LRJ: Secrets, Lies, and The Cover-Up is a story of a lonely wife whose husband travels a lot. She finds herself attracted to a client of hers who offers her a proposition. She later discovers that they share a past.
LLR: Where did the basis of the storyline come from?
LRJ: The basis started out as a regular love story that we all can relate, too. It just went into another direction.
LLR: Leah and Brendan’s marriage was very screwed up. How did you construct that union?
LRJ: I basically took that lonely feeling a lot of us women feel in relationships and marriages. So many couples are doing well career wise and financially but are no longer in love.
LLR: Who was your favorite character to write? Why?
LRJ: In this book, my favorite character to write was actually Tony. I enjoyed describing how much he loved her and how she was his everything. I also enjoyed writing how much she turned him on.
LLR: Who was the hardest character to write?
LRJ: It was hard to write her husband Brenden but not until the second book. He became very ruthless in that one.
LLR: If you could have a conversation with one of the characters, who would it be and why?
LRJ: It would be with Leah so we can discuss her journey throughout the story. It would be interesting to discuss her growth throughout the series. I would tell her to put herself first. She lost herself in her marriage trying so hard to make it work.
LLR: Who are some of your mentors in the business?
LRJ: Thaila Gardner, Lovey Vawters, Tyneese Brown and Author Amonty
LLR: Before you retire your pen, what do you hope to have achieved?
LRJ: To make the NY Times best sellers list.
LLR: What has been your best moment in the business thus far?
LRJ: I would have to say my very first release. I can never forget that feeling.
LLR: What is one piece of advice you would give to new authors?
LRJ: This business can be frustrating at times so my advice would be to keep going and never give up.
LLR: Say something to your readers.
LRJ: I do it for you guys and thank you for supporting me. Each and every one of you is appreciated.
